The Missionary Home commenced in 1960 by a group of Port Moresby Christians, when it was no longer possible to accommodate, in private homes, the increasing number of missionaries passing through Port Moresby. The Missionary Association of Papua New Guinea (MAPANG) is responsible for this home and is a non-denominational self-supporting association.
MAPANG's first Hosts were Ted and May Brett. They literally shared all they had to get the Mission home started. Since that time there have been many wonderful people who have given their all to serve as hosts and to manage this wonderful home. MAPANG Missionary Home has an excellent reputation for its friendly staff and excellent meals. We look forward to meeting you on your next visit.
MAPANG’s current Managers / Hosts are Roger & Kathy Tesch. In November 2013, God asked them to serve Him in Papua New Guinea. Roger came in January 2015 on a short-term mission project in Ukarumpa. They arrived in Port Moresby in January 2016 serving with another mission organization. They began their time at MAPANG in January 2017. They are from Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
