Hosts : Jim & Robyn Nottingham NEW UNIFORMS FOR THE STAFF One staff member had a birthday, and two others were celebrating 18 years and 10 years respectively of working here at Mapang. So the staff meeting took a party turn this time! A meal prepared and cleaned up by the managers, chocolate cake and icecream, and...... NEW UNIFORMS! The old ones were getting very ratty after long use, so it was time to replace them. The staff wanted something green that was a bit zippy, and we finally found these....they look like fun, and the staff are very happy. WORK UNDERWAY - long-postponed maintenance work on the buildings has commenced. Part of the roof and a few window timbers still need to be replaced, and some parts of the building need restumping. But water drainage in the back yard is being addressed, some screens have been replaced, and furniture repaired. The guest areas also needed attention, and all the rooms have been repaired and painted one by one, giving them a fresh, cool and more spacious look. However, in a place this size, there will be plenty to do for quite a while!
TEAMS or TRADIES - We'd love to invite anyone with trade skills to come and spend a week or three with us to help out with projects. We'll provide accommodation and fellowship for you and we do have some tools. You'll also get some exposure to churches and mission work in Port Moresby.
PRAYER FOR MAPANG's MINISTRY Please continue to pray for the ministry of MAPANG in the city of Port Moresby with its many challenges, socially and environmentally.
